Custom Woolen Mills is a small, family owned and operated woolen mill located near Carstairs, Alberta, Canada. Using turn-of-the-century industrial revolution machinery, they have been providing quality woolen and exotic fibre products to their loyal customers for over 35 years. Mule Spinner Yarns are made from the finest Canadian grown Merino and Rambouillet wool and spun using a Spinning Mule built in 1910. They are extremely soft with an airy, lively characteristic all their own. Unlike new industrial spinning processes, Mule Spun yarns are drawn, spun, relaxed, then wound, mirroring the processing pattern of hand-spinning. Many experts consider the Mule to make the highest quailty of handwork yarns.
